Sizing & Expansion Path
- Add up what has to stay on. Take the circuits you cannot lose — refrigeration, lighting, the router, a pump, medical equipment — and multiply their running watts by the hours you want them covered.
- Check the inverter's battery window. Most units sold as 48V accept a lithium deep cycle battery at 51.2V nominal, but confirm the charge voltage and the cut-off setting before you commit.
- Size the first cabinet to this year's load. Deep cycle battery storage is simple to expand and expensive to shrink, so buy the capacity you will actually use now and leave the rest for later.
- Reserve a second position. Two cabinets side by side need a level patch of floor and a cable route between them; deciding that now saves re-routing the DC run in two years' time.
- Add capacity when the load grows. Extra cabinets are paralleled to the first, so the original unit stays in service and the inverter still sees a single bank.
- Compare the family before you commit. If 15.36kWh is more than the house needs today, the same deep cycle battery family starts at 5.12kWh for a cabin or single-room backup; if you want extra headroom in one box, the 16.38kWh cabinet sits one step up.
- Write the plan into the installer's brief: inverter make and model, essential-load list, the first position and the future position.
Product Overview
This is a 15.36kWh battery storage power station built around a 51.2V 300Ah LiFePO4 pack. Cells, battery management, active balancing and the front display all live inside one white cabinet, so a house gets a single unit to wheel into position and connect, instead of a rack of separate modules wired together on site.
The cabinet is made for homes that already run solar or are about to. It banks what the array produces during the day and gives it back in the evening, and when the grid drops it holds the essential circuits up through the hybrid inverter. Off-grid cabins, workshops, small shops and clinics run the same unit where a generator is expensive to feed or awkward to site.
This is a lithium deep cycle battery that expects to work every day: no watering, no acid, no equalising charge, and no mid-season surprise where runtime quietly disappears.
Sixteen LiFePO4 cells sit in series inside the case, and the active balancer shifts charge between them while the pack charges and discharges. That keeps the cells level, so the weakest one never sets the ceiling for the whole bank.
Sizing is a starting point rather than a one-off decision. The cabinet is built to run in parallel, which means 15.36kWh today can become 30kWh, 60kWh or more later without replacing what you already own. That matters if a heat pump, an EV charger or a second workshop is somewhere on the plan.
Key Features
- One cabinet instead of a rack — the pack, BMS, balancer and display arrive assembled, so residential deep cycle battery storage becomes one delivery, one set of DC cables and one set of documents to keep. - Active balancing across all sixteen cells — charge is moved between cells during normal charging and discharging, so usable capacity stays where it was quoted instead of drifting apart over the years. - What the percentage on the front actually is — the BMS counts the charge going in and the charge coming out, then turns that into the state of charge figure on the cabinet display. The vertical LED strip repeats the same reading in four coarse steps, so you can see roughly where the pack sits from across the room without walking up to it. - Expect a small drift on partial cycling, then re-anchor it — a battery storage power station that lives on short charge and discharge cycles for weeks can drift a few percent high or low. A full charge, run until the charge current tapers off, puts the figure back at 100% and gives the active balancer a clear window to level the sixteen cells in series. - Read voltage and current alongside the percentage — pack voltage sags while a load is drawing and climbs back when it stops, which is normal for a LiFePO4 lithium battery. What deserves a second look is a voltage that keeps sliding under a light load while the percentage still reads high: that points at a cell sitting below the rest rather than at genuine capacity loss. - Learn the four alarms you are most likely to meet — over-voltage during charging, under-voltage as the pack nears its low cut-off, over-temperature from a hot plant room or a long heavy pull, and over-current from a load larger than the inverter should be asking for. In each case the BMS opens the circuit to protect the cells and closes it again once the condition clears. - Write down the code before you clear it — note the code, the time, what was running and the room temperature. That single line is what turns a vague fault into a fix, whether the answer is a charge profile change, better ventilation or a conversation with us. - Compare cabinets in a parallel bank at the same moment — when two or more units run together, a few percent spread between their displays is normal, because each BMS reads its own pack. One cabinet steadily falling behind the others is the signal to check its DC cabling and terminations before assuming a cell problem. - Call us when a pattern repeats — the same code coming back, capacity that no longer matches your load calculation, or a cabinet that will not accept charge. Send the display readings and the commissioning sheet, and we can tell you whether it is a setting, a cable or a unit that needs to come back under the 5-year warranty.
Inverter Compatibility & Charging
- Matched to the inverters already installed — the cabinet works with most global hybrid and off-grid brands, including Deye, Growatt, GoodWe, Sofar, SRNE, Voltronic Power, Schneider Electric, Lux Power and Megarevo.
- Send the model, get the settings — protocols differ between brands and firmware versions, so share your inverter's make and model before ordering and we will confirm what to select on the battery side.
- Three inputs, one bank — utility grid, generator and solar PV all charge the same pack, so the lithium deep cycle battery is never dependent on a single source.
- Grid-tie or off-grid — in a grid-tie house the battery storage power station absorbs surplus solar and returns it in the evening; off-grid, it carries the load whenever the panels are not producing.
- Parallel cabinets, one profile — a second unit is wired alongside the first, so the inverter settings and your load calculations stay exactly as they were.
Cabinet, Placement & Commissioning
The cabinet is a floor-standing LiFePO4 lithium battery unit in a smooth white case, with a front display, a vertical LED indicator strip down the face, a side access panel for the breaker and the wiring, caster wheels at the base and two handles at the top. Nothing hangs on a wall and nothing needs a rack: it rolls into position on a flat floor, and the handles let two people lift it over a doorstep or a kerb when the room changes.
Placement is where most installations are won or lost. Choose level, dry ground with the vents clear, away from standing water and away from anything that runs hot, and keep the DC run to the inverter as short as the layout allows. A garage, a utility room or a covered plant area is the usual home for it. If the site floods, sits below freezing for weeks, or the cabinet has to live outdoors, say so before ordering — that is when the heating option and the enclosure question get settled.
The pack inside is built on vehicle-grade manufacturing processes, from cell selection through to final assembly, which is why the case can be sealed and the lithium deep cycle battery left alone once it has been commissioned. There is no electrolyte to check and no routine that requires opening the cabinet.
Commissioning belongs to an electrician. The installer lands the DC cables, torques the terminations, sets the battery profile on the inverter and runs a first full charge while watching the display. Ask them to record the profile, the cut-off settings and the serial number on the handover sheet — that single page is worth more than any troubleshooting call later on.

FAQ
Will a 51.2V battery work with an inverter sold as 48V?
In most cases, yes. A 51.2V pack is the sixteen-cell LiFePO4 equivalent of a 48V lead-acid bank, and the hybrid and off-grid inverters sold as 48V are built around that same voltage window. The battery storage power station still has to be told what to expect, so check the inverter's charge voltage and cut-off settings, and send us the model before ordering so the profile is right the first time.
Can I add capacity later instead of buying a bigger cabinet now?
Yes — that is how this cabinet is meant to be used. Additional units are paralleled to the first, so the original LiFePO4 lithium battery stays in service and the inverter keeps seeing one bank. Nothing is replaced, and the load calculations you did on day one still hold.
What if my inverter brand is not on your compatibility list?
The list covers most of the hybrid and off-grid brands sold in Europe, North America and Australia, but it is not exhaustive. Send the make, model and firmware version and we will check the protocol. Older inverters that only accept a fixed lead-acid profile may need a different approach — better to find that out before the deep cycle battery ships than after it is on site.
How do I read the state of charge day to day?
The deep cycle lithium battery reports through the display on the front of the cabinet, and the vertical LED strip gives an at-a-glance level from across the room. Add the colour touch screen if you want voltage, current, temperature and remaining capacity at the cabinet itself, which is also the quickest way to see what happened after a protection event.
Does cold weather stop it charging?
The cabinet is rated to operate from -20 °C to 65 °C, so cold alone is not the problem. Charging a lithium deep cycle battery below freezing is the part to watch, and that is what the optional heating function handles: it self-heats once the temperature drops under 0 °C and brings the core back to 10 °C above zero so normal charge and discharge resume. If the site regularly sits below freezing, order the heating option.
What maintenance does it need?
Very little. Deep cycle battery storage of this kind has no electrolyte to top up and no equalising cycle to run. Dust the front panel, keep the vents and the floor around the casters clear, and have the installer check the DC terminations once a year. If the display shows a protection event, note the code before clearing it so the cause can be traced.
